Pharmacological properties:In the body, as a result of phosphorylation, thiamine chloride is transformed into cocarboxylase, which is a coenzyme in many enzymatic reactions and plays an important role in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids. The nitrogen atom located in the 4' position of the vitamin "B1" molecule affects the conduction of nerve impulses in synapses, has ganglioblocking and Curare-like effects.
Indications:Hypo- and avitaminosis of vitamin B1 is associated with decreased intestinal absorption, starvation, chronic alcoholism, and decreased liver function. Increased vitamin requirement during pregnancy, lactation, and intensive body growth. In case of neuritis, polyneuritis, sciatica, neuralgia, or peripheral paralysis. It is also used to treat neurogenic dermatoses, skin itching, pyoderma, eczema, and psoriasis.
